Water shoes

Good water shoes are lightweight so you almost won’t feel them on your feet, with an anti-slip sole so you stay upright on even the slipperiest stones. Most water shoes are made from neoprene, nylon mesh and a rubber sole – materials that are respectively water-repellent, breathable, elastic, lightweight and anti-slip. Talk about a match made in heaven!

Your water shoes should be close-fitting. Because you wear them in wet and slippery conditions, you want to be as sure-footed as possible to stay stable and upright. Water shoes that are too big will result in you slipping and sliding about, which could end in an annoying, uncomfortable and even painful fall into water or on stone.

Water shoes are often a bit bigger than the size suggests. So try a size down from normal to be sure they’ll stay nice and tight. Water shoes that are too big can lead to blisters from rubbing, and shoes that are too small can pinch. So a good fit is essential!
