Mosquito nets

If you want to buy a mosquito net, the destination, the impregnation (whether the net is treated with an insecticide or not), the type of mosquito net, and the number of people who will sleep under the net all play a role.

In (sub)tropical areas, mosquitoes landing on the net can be a danger if you lie against it in your sleep. An impregnated mosquito net is treated with a biocide. Thanks to the Duralin® impregnation technology of, for example, the Care Plus mosquito nets, mosquitoes no longer dare sit on the net and therefore cannot sting you through it. This insecticide is safe for humans.

An impregnated mosquito net offers extra protection in areas where malaria, dengue, yellow fever, and West Nile virus are spread by mosquitoes. If you are staying in a (sub)tropical area, it is recommended that you sleep under an impregnated mosquito net to protect yourself against mosquitoes, fleas, bedbugs, and other biting/stinging insects. 

The size of the mosquito net you choose depends on how many people will sleep under it. There are both single and double mosquito nets that you can hang above your bed or air mattress. Do you want to protect yourself from annoying midges? Then put on a head net! 

Mosquito nets are made of a fine polyester mesh with very small openings that mosquitoes and other flying and crawling insects cannot pass through.
