Did you know that the textile industry is responsible for 7% of global greenhouse gas emissions? Since their founding in 2008, Picture has always wanted to do things differently: they want to do better for the world. For example, the brand uses organically grown cotton and fabric leftovers from other clothing. Technical items contain at least 50% recycled polyester. Plus, the repair centres help to further extend the lifespan of the clothing.
Best of all: they do it all deliberately at prices that can compete with brands that are not as committed to sustainability. How about a warm fleece hoodie over your hiking leggings or stretchy trousers? Or a ski jacket in your favourite colour with matching ski trousers? Add a cool hat or cap and you’re ready for snowy peaks and sunny outdoor cafés.
Picture, by the way, is the creation of three French childhood friends: Jeremy, Julien, and Vincent. They were originally an architect, marketing manager, and ICT tech. But mostly, they’re dedicated snowboarders and skaters. The motivation was very simple: make cool clothing for like-minded adventurous souls, but produce it as sustainably as possible. Et voilà!
