Women, men, children: everyone’s wearing Havaianas. Women can choose from elegant slippers with slender or even glitter straps. For men, there are the iconic Havaianas Brasil, with the Brazilian flag on them, or the Havaianas Slide, without a strap between the toes. Kids can go wild with the craziest prints.
Apart from the fact that Havaianas makes especially cheerful and fun designs, the brand also thinks that sustainability and the environment are of paramount importance. Almost 10% of the entire turnover goes to a research institute dedicated to the preservation of the Atlantic Rainforest, the Amazon, and the Pantanal. It’s wonderful to know that you can support a good cause with a pair of flip-flops!
By the way, it all started in Brazil back in 1962. The first Havaianas slippers were based on traditional Japanese sandals, which had soles made of rice straw (hence the rice grain pattern on the sole of your Havaianas). Two years later, every Brazilian worker was wearing a pair. And two years later, Havaianas invented the flip-flop as we know it today. That’s right: Havaianas was there first!
