The first adidas hiking shoes were developed in the 1970s in cooperation with mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. Together, they worked on sturdy yet lightweight shoes that would noticeably increase the hiking comfort of any hiker. After decades of perfecting them, adidas came up with the TERREX Shoes. adidas was developed right after the Second World War by Adolf (Adi) Dassler, who named the shoe after himself (adi-das). After almost a century, the manufacturer has risen to first place in Europe when it comes to sportswear. adidas is also a global favourite (e.g. in the USA).
